A Real Conversation About PCOS, Perimenopause, Menopause & My Experience With NAD

Sundays are my favorite days to slow down and talk to you — woman to woman, mom to mom, friend to friend. Today, I want to open up about something so many of us deal with silently: our hormones.

We’re going to talk about PCOS.We’re going to talk about perimenopause. We’re going to talk about menopause. We’re going to talk about the things we whisper about but rarely say out loud.

And I also want to share something new I’ve been trying in the office — NAD therapy — because the benefits I’m seeing in my energy, mood, and skin have honestly blown me away.

💛 A Real-Life Check-In: Let’s Be Honest About These “Post-Baby” Years

I’m the owner of The Skincare Studio, and yes, I spend my days helping women feel confident in their skin. But I’m also a mom of two boys — 5 and 8 years old — and even though I’m not “post-baby” anymore… let’s be real:

Do we ever actually go back to a normal baseline after having kids?Because I don’t think so.

Between raising kids, running a business, being present for clients, trying to stay healthy, being a partner, being a friend, and just trying to keep my sanity — hormones have been doing their own thing. And perimenopause layered on top? Whew. Nobody prepared us for this level of multitasking.

Some days I feel amazing.Other days I’m googling “why do I feel 27 emotions in the span of 4 minutes?”And if you know, you know.

When I started talking about this with clients, I realized something:We are ALL going through this.We just aren’t talking about it enough.

🥄 PCOS, Perimenopause, Menopause — The Conversations We Need

Hormonal imbalances don’t just affect our cycle. They affect our skin, weight, inflammation, sleep, energy, mood, and confidence.

✨ PCOS

PCOS shows up differently for everyone, but most women experience:

  • acne flare-ups

  • insulin resistance

  • weight that seems stuck

  • hair growth or hair loss

  • irregular cycles

  • inflammation and mood swings

PCOS doesn’t always “look” the same — but your body absolutely feels it. And it often shows up first in your skin.

✨ Perimenopause

Perimenopause is… an adventure we did not sign up for.

Your estrogen and progesterone start fluctuating like crazy. You might feel:

  • more breakouts

  • random dryness

  • mood swings

  • sleep that makes NO sense

  • brain fog

  • weight changes

  • short fuse (don’t play 😩)

And the skin? She changes too:

  • dullness

  • increased sensitivity

  • new fine lines

  • inflammation

  • collagen drop-off

It’s like the “before” of menopause — but with no timeline and no manual.

✨ Menopause

Menopause is a major shift, not an ending. But it comes with its own set of changes:

  • thinner, more fragile skin

  • dryness

  • slower healing

  • loss of elasticity

  • pigmentation changes

If you feel like your skin changed “overnight,” there’s a reason. Hormones control everything.

🌱 The One Thing I’ve Been Testing Personally: NAD Therapy

If you know me, you know I don’t recommend ANYTHING unless I test it myself first — and I’ve been genuinely shocked by how NAD has made me feel.

What is NAD+?

NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a natural coenzyme found in every cell in your body. It’s responsible for:

  • energy production

  • repairing DNA

  • metabolism

  • cellular aging

  • brain clarity

  • mood regulation

  • hormone balance

As we age, our natural NAD levels drop — which explains why we suddenly feel tired, foggy, inflamed, and “not ourselves.”

What I’ve Felt Since Trying NAD

After testing NAD injections myself (and on a few staff members), here’s what I personally noticed:

  • REAL energy. Not caffeine energy — actual cellular energy.

  • Better mental clarity — less brain fog, fewer “why did I walk into this room?” moments.

  • My skin looked brighter and more hydrated.

  • My mood felt more even, especially around hormonal shifts.

  • A surprising sense of calm and groundedness.

My staff is reporting the same: more energy, better mood, and their skin is glowing.

And the crazy part? The research supports exactly what we’re feeling.

💬 I Really Want Your Opinion

This is something I’m exploring for women’s health, hormone support, skin health, and mood balance.

Would you want:

  • more education on NAD?

  • a trial program in the office?

  • a “NAD Hormone Reset Month”?

  • or to try it yourself?

Message me or comment below — because your feedback will decide if this becomes a permanent service.

💖 Final Thoughts

Hormones impact everything — our skin, our energy, our relationships, our mood, our sense of self. And as someone juggling motherhood, perimenopause, business, and LIFE, I just want to create a space where we can talk openly and support each other.

You are not alone. You are not crazy.Your hormones are REAL — and so are the solutions.

If you made it to the end of this blog… I love you for real.

I have PCOS and was originally prescribed Metformin without much education or guidance, so I’ve been navigating this journey largely on my own. I’ve tried so many different options with very little progress.

A in office trial would be extremely helpful. I’m hoping to see how this product could support my hormonal balance, especially since PCOS has been a major struggle for me — from facial hair overgrowth and ingrowns to hair thinning on my head and significant hyperpigmentation. Not to mention excessive hair growth in other areas that has really affected my confidence.

I would truly appreciate the opportunity to participate in a trial and see if this could finally give me some relief.

I’ve been looking into this myself. Even tried a gum infused with NAD. I would be willing to try it if offered as a service.
